Attached is the December 2020 edition of the F.A.C.E. newsletter. This edition brings news about important changes to the Board of Directors.
Our President, Cindy Drake, is retiring after serving 10 years on the F.A.C.E. Board of Directors and 33 years in the Code Enforcement Profession. She will be succeeded by our current 1st Vice President, Michael Hauserman, who will assume the role of President effective December 18, 2020.
The changes in President left a vacancy in the role of 1st Vice President. The Board is pleased to announce the new 1st Vice President will be Linnelle Stewart with the City of Alachua. She has been a valued member of the Program Committee for several terms. Her experience will allow her to seamlessly lead us forward to an exciting 32nd Annual Educational Conference being held June 22 - 25, 2021.
Also leaving the Board of Directors is the Sergeant-at-Arms, Sam Sullivan, who has served many years in F.A.C.E. on the Board and in Committees. The Board is excited to announce that Todd Hoagland, City of Cape Coral, has been appointed the new Sergeant-at-Arms. Todd has also served as a F.A.C.E. committee member and President of S.W.A.C.E., bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.
Lastly, the position of Past President has also been left vacant by the exit of April Hartseil. April served F.A.C.E. for many years on Committees and the Board of Directors. The Board will discuss the need to fill the Past President vacancy during the December 18, 2020 Board Meeting.
As 2020 has been a year of changes, it was no surprise that it also affected the Board of Directors*. We just did not expect so many changes at once. As we rose to the challenge of providing a virtual conference, so too will we rise to the challenge of a new Board of Directors. Thank you Cindy, Sam, and April for your years of dedication and service to F.A.C.E., to the code enforcement profession at large, and to the people and communities you serve. Your knowledge and experience will be missed. We wish the best to all of our departing colleagues on your next adventures in life. Congratulations to all of our new Board members! We look forward to your leadership carrying us into 2021 and beyond.
*All changes to the Board of Directors will be reflected on the website after the effective date of December 18, 2020.
