A message from your president...
I hope you’re all doing well! As our October 17th meeting was cancelled due to Hurricane Michael I wanted to take the opportunity to reach out to you all. Understandably communication with those of you who were also affected has been limited so please reach out and let us know all know how you’re doing!
To update you all on Bay County, as a whole we have been in disaster response mode since the storm. Specifically for Bay County Code Enforcement, Officers have been assisting in any essential capacity needed, to include other departments. Officers and staff have also been dealing with personal losses incurred from the storm. Again, we would love to hear from our neighboring Counties also affected.
I hope you all received the email from F.A.C.E. regarding the need to reschedule the Legal Issues class which was to have been held earlier this month. PAOCE’s training chairperson, Kathi Ashman, has been actively communicating with F.A.C.E. on getting this rescheduled. You may have received the email that it has been rescheduled for the week of February 4-8, 2019 and will be held at the Panama City Beach Police Department.
We are planning on resuming PAOCE meetings and training in the coming year to include the regularly scheduled meeting in January. We will send out the dates for the year as soon as they’re set. I have attached the invoice for PAOCE membership application for 2019 as well. As a reminder we will have elections for your PAOCE Officers at the January meeting so if you wish to serve or wish to nominate a member to serve as an Officer please let us know so we can be prepared for an election if we have multiple nominees.
In the meantime, per our by-laws, any overages of the PAOCE account shall be donated to a charity of the association’s choice at the end of the year. Since we could not vote on this at the October meeting please email in your charity of choice and once we get a list we will submit the list for members to vote on.
I will probably think of some other things as soon as I send this but for now these are the key points. My main purpose was to reach out to check on everyone and to let you all know we are still here. You’re all in our thoughts!
I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and I look forward to hearing back from you!
